Ganja Granny and The Green Ribbon World wish to extend their heartfelt sympathy to the family of Jack Here. 1939-2010
“No other single person has done more to educate people all across the world about industrial hemp and marijuana as Jack Herer. His book is translated into a dozen different languages, it’s a bestseller in Germany,”
Paul Stanford, Executive Director of The Hemp and Cannabis Foundation
Jack Herer’s The Emporer Wears No Clothes
Herer was the author of The Emperor Wear No Clothes, a book that Herer’s website claims “started the hemp revolution.” He also ran for US president in the 1988 and 1992.
Jack Herer also worked as an advocate for the legalization of marijuana. He worked to change laws in several states and get hemp initiatives on ballots.
Herer’s work has been memorialized in different ways. An award-winning strain of cannabis has been named after Jack Herer.
One website describes the Jack Herer strain as a “sublime blend of tropical Sativa high and monstrous Indica resin production captured in Jack Herer must be seen and sampled to be believed.” Jack Herer was also named to the Counterculture Hall of Fame.
