Info for Vermont Residents
If we can get Vermont’s biggest city to overwhelmingly vote in favor of ending prohibition… the next step is to introduce it on town meeting day in every town, village and city across Vermont.(267?) for a March 2011 town meeting vote. Hopefully, the legislators will finally understand it is not only politically safe but wise to vote for repealing prohibition and legalizing cannabis for all its uses. The last time there was a vote in Burlington favoring Medical Marijuana- the largest turnout for any referendum (over 80%) in in history and the largest in favor(80.5%). Yet a poll showed only 30% of Burlington citizens thought their neighbors felt the same way they did on the issues. Many people are still in the dark about this issue. If we give them an anonymous way (voting) of expressing their support, history is on our side and we will win. For those interested in the Burlington referendum (November,2010) to legalize cannabis, we need approximately 3,000 signatures. If you live in Burlington or know some one who does, please pass this information along . Dennis Steele is running as an independent and Cris Ericson (US Marijuana Party)wants to end prohibition. Peter Shulman (D) says he favors decriminalization but privately want a referendum like this so he “Can do the right thing.” We all want a total RE-LEGALIZATION and complete end to prohibition. A Governor willing to sign legislation or demanding such legislation is a candidate we can get behind. When the people lead…..THE LEADERS FOLLOW!
