NO MORE DRUG WAR

We asked our supporters to kick-start our campaign to end the drug war with a catchy, hard-hitting name. Over a thousand folks responded – and now we have a winner!
We were blown away by our supporters enthusiasm and creativity. Some suggestions were funny, some outrageous, but we ultimately adopted a name that we’ve seen before and are excited to introduce to a larger audience: No More Drug War.
Today and every day, federal and state governments spend at least $140 million on the failed drug war. Mothers and fathers are being torn away from their children for possessing a small amount of marijuana. Too many people are dying in the U.S. and around the world because of the stupidity and cruelty of government drug policies.
We’re launching our No More Drug War campaign to make this year, the 40th anniversary of the drug war, the tipping point for drug policies grounded in science, compassion, health and human rights.

If we’re going to end the war on drugs, we need to win the hearts and minds of Americans at every level – from the policymakers who can stop the wasteful flow of money into ineffective enforcement policies, to everyday Americans who don’t yet realize the high cost of the drug war in money and lives.
That’s why DPA will be mobilizing individuals across the country to bring the disastrous policies of the drug war to light. We’ll be planning local events, engaging with high-profile people to speak out against the war on drugs, and delivering a hard-hitting report exposing its costs, failures and alternatives.
To make a big impact, we’ll need to show that we have support from people like you who are committed to ending the war on drugs. Over the next few months, we’ll send you opportunities to take action and help us prove that there is a critical mass to change our drug policies. Join us on Facebook to show your support as we begin the campaign!
Thanks for your support.
