GANJA GRANNY sez REEFER MADNESS PERMEATES MEDIA CRIME REPORTS
Ganja Granny sez REEFER MADNESS permeates many media accounts of various crimes. The latest one to attract my attention, is the arrest last week of a suspected home grown terrorist in NYC. The newspapers reported HE WAS SMOKING POT! I don’t care what this guy was smoking.. The mere mention of what he was smoking seemed to me, that the media would like us to believe marijuana was responsible for his plan to blow up police stations and military returning from tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. In almost every report of a crime, you will read…. “and just before he/she committed the murder the suspect was indulging in a little or in some cases, a whole lot of smoke”. The person who robbed the bank reeked of Marijuana smoke! Why this archaic, sensationalized reporting????… These people were probably bent on committing whatever crime, with or without marijuana.. Marijuana has NEVER committed a crime..I have yet to take a toke in my life time and begin plotting a bank robbery or any other crime..I also do not know anyone else who has done this. Grant you, an individual may have been smoking pot or possibly doing hard drugs but as I said before.. this is not what propelled them into action. It is my contention they would do this anyway… with or without the help of marijuana or anything else. Most reporters can be and are fair in their accounts describing an event sans their personal opinion. My concern and question is…….Are the few who use this absurd technique by injecting the use of a reefer madness mentality… Do they, on a personal level… really believe it????…In the meantime, as Sonny and Cher use to sing.. The Beat Goes On and so do we and so does cannabis…….. We managed to get through Thanksgiving and now the Holidays will come rolling in, like a tsunami…If you have not done your shopping you better get to it.. If Cannabis were legal.. it certainly would take the stress out of wondering what to buy..But since its not.. We will have to keep it legal…We also have to give some attention to how we are going to get to Washington 4/20/12 and how we can arrange to travel from wherever we find ourselves… to the Dems Convention in Charlotte and don’t forget the Republicans in Tampa in 2012… This is a must for anyone who supports legalization for any reason. If we really want it to happen in our lifetime, it should not be a problem.. We will be there and we will get our message out…Its not too late to make a plan, unless … of course you want to keep cannabis illegal…Whatever your circumstances may be and you still purchase illegal pot….. than I am confident you will find a way to attend, at least one of these functions. For sure, the rest of us will be there and we will never understand it.. if we don’t see you there..In the meantime, we should continue to keep a watch on OWS. Keep in mind they accomplished in a short span of time to do what we have never done.. And that is… to generate enough world wide publicity to get their message out there. I have said it before and I will say it again, You can not buy this kind of publicity. Whatever we do… or need… We want at least, medical marijuana… I have a friend in the hospital this very moment, who may be approaching the end. He would definitely, here in New York benefit from legal medical marijuana. How many people, this very minute are suffering and could lesson their torment if they could have legal cannabis as an alternative RX..Of course, I don’t think if a patient really needs it, they are going to worry about the law.. Ganja Granny sez We must band together and we must intensify our efforts to educate the uneducated re cannabis and ALL its uses. We must step up our efforts to write, call and email our reps in government.. We are not going away,!we are not easing up… We have talked about it and kicked this thing around long enough..Ganja Granny sez We MUST KEEP IT LIT!….
The Potter books in general are a prolonged argument for tolerance, a prolonged plea for an end to bigotry, and I think it’s one of the reasons that some people don’t like the books, but I think that it’s a very healthy message to pass on to younger people that you should question authority and you should not assume that the establishment or the press tells you all of the truth. -J.K.
