MAN ATTEMPTS TO EAT MARIJUANA EVIDENCE
Abilene Police: Man Arrested After Trying To Eat His Marijuana
ABILENE, Texas — From Det. John Clark, Abilene Police Department (12/22/11):Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours.At 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Brandon Scott stopped a suspect vehicle in an armed subject call in the 5300 block of North 9th. Officer Scott smelled the odor of marijuana and searched the vehicle. He located a small quantity of marijuana and also several hydrocodone capsules. The male driver was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. The passenger of the car was also contacted, and he had tried to eat some marijuana which was recovered from his mouth. This male subject was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone) and tampering with evidence.At 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Andrew Valdez stopped a vehicle in the 1800 block of Clinton for a traffic violation. The driver appeared intoxicated and failed the standardized field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for DWI second offense.At 3:20 a.m. today, Officer Gabe Thompson stopped a vehicle that was fleeing the scene of a theft at a southside business. A search was conducted for stolen property, and a hydrocodone capsule was found in her possession. Officer Thompson also found a small baggie containing a white powder that tested positive for cocaine. This female suspect was placed under arrest for possession of cocaine and possession of hydrocodone. The theft case is still under investigation.
