Ganja Granny sez Trying to make some SMOKING sense out of the news in the past few weeks, particularly the account of the raid of Army Vet, Mathew David Stewart’s home in Ogden Utah…An agent, Jared Francon was killed. I am certain he died needlessly..
According to a blog on MPP….At 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2012, members of the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force in Ogden, Utah conducted a “knock and enter” warrant on the home of 37 year-old army veteran Matthew David Stewart. According to reports, they knocked and no one answered. When they forcefully entered his home in paramilitary style gear, with guns drawn, they encountered gunfire. When it was over, Jared Francon, one member of the task force was fatally injured, five members were wounded, Stewart was injured and faces likely charges of aggravated murder (which carries the death penalty) and multiple counts of attempted aggravated murder.
According to DEA Special Agent in Charge Frank Smith, the victims and other agents involved in this operation are heroes, and they were “protecting the public.” Agreeing with Agent Smith, members of the task force are heroes, but in this instance, they certainly were not protecting the public. Whatever they were doing did not justify any ones death for any reason. This is just another story, another statistic in the stupid war on drugs. There is no way to avoid the cost of losing any life or the cost of arrests, prosecution in a court of law, incarceration, etc.. unless Federal and State Marijuana Prohibition laws are removed permanently from the books. Its a waste of time, money and resources to do anything but declare CANNABIS LEGAL in this country for medical, recreational, spiritual, industrial, agricultural use and anything else we can think of. The rest of the world face the same problem…. some worse, some of a lesser note. I am at lost as to what to do to accomplish our goal for TOTAL LEGALIZATION or WHERE TO BEGIN? I for one, repeatedly say we cannot continue along the same path that for 75 years this coming August has kept Federal Prohibition of Marijuana intact. Yes! We have made progress… progress that is so slow…. that most of us will not live to see any positive results…Many states have passed laws okaying Medical Marijuana( 16 plus D.C.) with each state law different than the rest.. American citizens voted for this and now the very places it is supposed to be legal are also being harassed, attacked, closed down, arrested and worse…We must change our strategy! We cannot continue doing the same thing we have been doing, considering the official War on Drugs first began…41 years ago. This is another bitch that I have. We are one of the strongest nations on earth.. Is there any war, we have fought or would fight and take more than 40 years and still not see victory in sight? Its true the subject is no longer taboo as it was in my day. Marijuana is a word that seems to be on every ones lips these days, if not in their pocket. I was born approximately 5 months before Prohibition of Marijuana was signed into law by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Aug 2nd, 1937…Speaking openly about it on television, radio, newspapers, the internet, etc is not the same as openly doing something about it…. The image of anyone, indulging in cannabis for any reason is completely stigmatized. Most people agree it should be legal but most people do not want to go public with such a statement. All this fear is outrageous and based on incorrect information and perception as to what CANNABIS ACTUALLY IS or CAN DO or how it can be utilized…. If you indulge, knowing you are breaking the law, you are really as stupid as the law is… ESPECIALLY,if you do not think its your obligation to stand up and speak out. It is all the closet smokers who think they have something to lose who contribute to keeping us in an illegal state… Because of them, and I have to include us, the illegal market will continue to flourish and the criminal element will remain in control or is it the government that is really in control. After all, illegal money keeps the economy flowing. We need, as I have said before to stop preaching to the choir..The choir will keep singing whether the church is closed or not.. In other words we will continue to use and continue our little protests, rallies and marches only to get the same results.. We need the dashing three piece suiters and those hot chicks, strutting around in their Manolo Blahnick stilettos. We know who they are and they know who they are…We need Grandpa and Grandma, who are concerned about what their children and grand children will think of them.. Get over it .. the kids have better stuff than you have ever seen…We need more professionals to step out along with blue collar workers.. We need the GAY LESBIAN BISEXUAL TRANSEXUAL COMMUNITY. They were hit the hardest with AIDS and Cannabis played a huge part in helping relieve many symptoms when conventional medication did not work. . We are all one… we are better than AT& T.. WE ARE ALL CONNECTED!.. It is not about whether you use or not or even if you have never tried cannabis or never will! ITS ABOUT ANY ONES RIGHT TO DO SO. WE NEED EVERYONE AND ANY ONE to educate the masses, the multitudes of people who think they will never get busted and hopefully they won’t. We need them to stand up against these Draconian Laws of yesteryear that have been extremely successful in making criminals out of people on both sides of the law..Someone recently said to me; ” There is nothing left to say”!.. They are so damn right it makes me ill to think about it.. because “there is nothing left to say”.. We have said it all, laid it out and still we cannot remove the stigma… not to mention the absurdity of the fear of losing your job, you or your children being ridiculed or ostracized or worse.. No taxpayer is exempt from paying for a losing war that seems to be endless and more violent as it continues.. We are all paying for every aspect… from the moment of arrest …Ganja Granny sez HOW MUCH LONGER CAN WE CONTINUE DOWN A PATH THAT GETS US NO WHERE? How can we accelerate publicity and education regarding Cannabis.. How can we make a difference??? Use every opportunity presented to you… no matter how small or bid it may be. You never know… It might be that one instance that will change it all or at least get us moving in the right direction.Ganja Granny sez WHATS IN IT FOR YOU and ME??? Freedom is in it.! FREEDOM IS OUR REWARD! Voltaire said “Man is free at the moment he wishes to be”! Well… I certainly wish to be free and I am certain that you do too!…….. On another toke, Congratulations ! MOJE GRATULACjE Pan Janusz Polikot, Polish politician and new leader of a new left wing party.for keeping your word, for standing up in WARSAW before Parliament and smoking a joint to promote legalization! BRAVO! You are a Courageous person for standing up for your beliefs. Ganja Granny sez KEEP IT LIT! PASS IT AROUND! STAY BLAZED and by all means DON’T GIVE UP… More than getting high is at stake FREEDOM IS AT STAKE! YOURS AND MINE!…In the meantime wear a green ribbon to show support for legalization.. “THE SECRET OF HAPPINESS IS FREEDOM ,THE SECRET OF FREEDOM IS COURAGE.”(Thucydides( Ancient Greek historian & author, 460-404BC)
Ganja Granny had to include this bit of wisdom sent to me this morning…This is exactly how I feel concerning Legalization and the how long it is taking..
A female CNN journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who had been going to the Western Wall to pray, twice a day, every day, for a long, long time.
So she went to check it out. She went to the Western Wall and there he was, walking slowly up to the holy site.
She watched him pray and after about 45 minutes, when he turned to leave, using a cane and moving very slowly, she approached him for an interview.
“Pardon me, sir, I’m Rebecca Smith from CNN. What’s your name?
“Morris Feinberg,” he replied.
“Sir, how long have you been coming to the Western Wall and praying?”
“For about 60 years.”
“60 years! That’s amazing! What do you pray for?”
“I pray for peace between the Christians, Jews and the Muslims.”http://www.tokeofthetown.com/2011/06/29/hemp.gif
“I pray for all the wars and all the hatred to stop.”
“I pray for all our children to grow up safely as responsible adults and to love their fellow man.”
“I pray that politicians tell us the truth and put the interests of the people ahead of their own interests.”
“How do you feel after doing this for 60 years?”
“Like I’m talking to a fucking wall.”
